8. Charles CREEK, son of James CREEKE and Amy (Or Emily) HEMMINGS, was born 19 Jan 1845 in 3 Union St, Cambridge, was christened 30 Mar 1845 in St Edwards Church, Cambridge, and died 15 Sep 1911 in Wandsworth and Clapham Union Infirmary, 162 St John's Hill, London104 at age 66. The cause of his death was Syphilitic stenosis of the larynx/Asphixia.

Research Notes: At the time of the 1851 census, Charles and his family resided at Union Street in Cambridge.

At the time of the 1881 census, Charles was with his brother William and family. It was noted he was married, but had no occupaton.

At the time of the 1901 census, Charles was listed as a 'lodger', living at 4 St Anns Hill, Wandsworth (Surrey). His occupation was noted as 'fruiterer', and he was a widower.

There is a record of Charles admitted to the Fulham Road Workhouse on 1st March 1909, and leaving on the 14th June 1909, at his 'own request'. There is a further record of admission to the Wandsworth (Tooting Home, Church Lane) Workhouse on 25th October 1909. At the time of the 1911 census, Charles was listed as an 'inmate', living at the same Tooting Home Workhouse. His occupation was noted as "former greengrocer assistant".

Medical Notes: Charles died in the Wandsworth and Clapham Union Infirmary (1870 - 1919), later the St John's Hill Infirmary (1920 - 1922), and later still St John's Hospital (closed c1985).

Charles married Lydia Hanscomb BUNTING 53,54 11 Feb 1868 in St Andrew The Great, Cambridge.106 Lydia was born 2 Mar 1847 in Cambridge, UK,107 was christened 4 Apr 1847 in St Pauls Church, Cambridge, and died 15 Oct 1925 in Helpston, Peterborough at age 78. The cause of her death was Carcinoma of the Colon/Exhaustion. Another name for Lydia was Lily BUNTING.

Marriage Notes: Lydia was five months pregnant with Charles David James when married. (Married in February 1868, gave birth in June 1868).

At the time of the 1871 census, Lydia, Charles, Charles (Jnr) and William were residing at Granta Place in Cambridge.

In the 1881 census, Lydia was at her parents home, with the children. Was she separated, or merely visiting?

Ellen was born 30 Jul 1874 in London Mile End, London, Middlesex,48,63 died 22 Oct 1917 in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, UK51 at age 43, and was buried 25 Oct 1917 in St Pauls Church, Cambridge.59 The cause of her death was Diabetes & heart failure.

         ii.  William Henry Bunting CREEK was born 15 Oct 1870 in 4 Granta Place, Mill Lane, Cambridge,48 was christened 1 Jan 1871 in St Andrew The Great, Cambridge, and died 5 Mar 1906 in West Ham Union Workhouse Infirmary, Union Road, Leytonstone108 at age 35. The cause of his death was Tuberculosis. William married Frances Caroline DOBINSON, daughter of William DOBINSON, 22 May 1897 in Register Office, District of West Ham.109.,110 Frances was born about 1876 in Bromley by Bow, London and died before 1911.


9. Lydia Hanscomb BUNTING,53,54 daughter of David BUNTING 111 and Eliza F. HANSCOMB, was born 2 Mar 1847 in Cambridge, UK,107 was christened 4 Apr 1847 in St Pauls Church, Cambridge, and died 15 Oct 1925 in Helpston, Peterborough at age 78. The cause of her death was Carcinoma of the Colon/Exhaustion. Another name for Lydia was Lily BUNTING.

Research Notes: At the time of the 1851 census, Lydia was living in Russell Street, Cambridge, with her parents and siblings.

When the 1881 census was taken, Lydia was at her parents home with her two children. Her status was 'married'.

Charles was noted as a widower in the 1901 census, but it seems Lydia was actually living with another man, as his wife, at that time. She was using the surname Wootten, and was living with David Wooten. Her Grand Son Cecil was also there on the day of the census.

Lydia died in 1925 and her death certificate stated Lydia Handscomb Wootton, although no record of her marriage has been found.

Lydia married David WOOTTEN ____________.112.,113 David was born about 1849 in Cambridge. They had no children.

Research Notes: David was with Lydia at the time of the 1911 census.

Research Notes: At the time of the 1901 census, John and his wife and family were living at 17a Panton Street, Cambridge. John was a publican and coachman.

John married Eleanor Catherine Pain SIMPSON 78 13 Apr 1874 in St Pauls Church, Stratford, Essex 116,117,118,119.,120.,121.,122 Eleanor was born 15 Sep 1855 in Merchants Yard, Broadstairs, St Peters, Kent123 and died 27 Feb 1956 in Chesterton Institution, 29 Union Lane, Cambridge124 at age 100. The cause of her death was Heart attack/Influenza. Another name for Eleanor was Ellen.

Charles was born 24 Jun 1868 in 3 Butcher Row, Cambridge,55,56,57,58 died 9 Feb 1945 in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, UK at age 76, and was buried 14 Feb 1945 in St Pauls Church, Cambridge.59 The cause of his death was Head injuries.

         ii.  Alexander John CLARKE 125,126 was born 1 Feb 1876 in 4 Coronation Buildings, Cambridge. Alexander married Elizabeth Sarah Alice CRONK.

        iii.  Gertrude Alice CLARKE 127,128 was born in 1879. Gertrude married William Charles ANABLE,129 son of Charles ANABLE, 21 Sep 1907 in The Parish Church, St Luke, Cambridge.52 William was born about 1878.

         iv.  Sydney CLARKE 130,131 was born about 1880 in Cambridge. Sydney married Emily.

          v.  Percy CLARKE 132,133 was born in 1883 in Cambridge and was christened 29 Jul 1883 in Cambridge St Paul. Percy married Nellie.

         vi.  Hilda Mary CLARKE 134,135 was born in 1888 in Cambridge and died in 1992 at age 104. Hilda married Leo GOLDIE. Leo was born in 1884.

        vii.  Tom CLARKE 136,137,138 was born in 1890 in Cambridge and died in 1969 at age 79. Tom married Edith Ellen LLOYD. Edith was born in 1888 and died in 1969 at age 81.

       viii.  Denys CLARKE 139,140 was born 5 Feb 1893 in Cambridge and died in 1989 at age 96. Denys married Evelyn Mary PRESTELL. Evelyn was born 10 Nov 1892 and died in 1970 at age 78.

Eleanor Catherine Pain SIMPSON,78 daughter of Robert Samuel SIMPSON and Elizabeth PAIN, was born 15 Sep 1855 in Merchants Yard, Broadstairs, St Peters, Kent123 and died 27 Feb 1956 in Chesterton Institution, 29 Union Lane, Cambridge124 at age 100. The cause of her death was Heart attack/Influenza. Another name for Eleanor was Ellen.

Research Notes: At the time of the 1901 census, Ellen was living with her hsuband and family at 17a Panton Street, Cambridge.

Medical Notes: Died in Chesterton Hospital, which at the time was named the Chesterton Institution.

12. Libitey CARLOW,79,80 son of Henry CALLER (CARLOW) 141,142 and Sarah THURLEY, was born 8 Oct 1851 in Wrotham, Kent and died 20 Jul 1894 in 10 Hearns Rd, St Pauls Cray51 at age 42. The cause of his death was Heart Disease. Another name for Libitey was CALLER.

Research Notes: At the time of the 1871 census, Liberty and his wife Elizabeth lived in Boro' Green, Wrotham, which is the same hamlet as Liberty's mother and father.

At the time of the 1881 census, was living at 12 (Manor Cottage) Star Lane in St Mary Cray, Kent, with his wife, three children and a boarder. His occupation was paper maker.

Lived at 10 Hean Road, St Pauls Cray at the time of the 1891 census. His occupation was labourer.

Walter married Florence Ada PRESCOTT, daughter of Charles Walter PRESCOTT, 17 May 1907 in Parish Church, St Mary Cray. Florence was born 20 Jul 1886 in Soho, London, died 10 Jul 1969 in Brisbane, Qld, Australia at age 82, and was buried in Mt Gravatt, Qld, Australia.
