Research Notes: At the time of the 1891 census, Charles was at the residence of Henry & Eliza Bridge at 14 Union Road, Cambridge. Henry was a baker, and Charles David James Creek was a 'bakers assistant'. Eliza was Charles' aunt, the sister of his mother.

What tempted Charles away from the bakery into photography at some point in his early life? When staying and working with his uncle in Union Road, he was living a few doors away from the home of Alfred William Farren, a printseller and framemaker and the son of famous Cambridge photographer, William Farren; could Farren have inspired or assisted Charles in his artistic aspirations?

Medical Notes: Died of head injuries after being hit by a bus. Admitted to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, on 7/2/1945, and died two days later.

The inscription on the rear of the photograph (taken around 1916) said 'Bristol House', Springfield Rd, Bury. From the death certificate of Elizabeth Creek (1917) we know she died at 32 Springfield Road, Bury St Edmonds, and her son-in-law was present at her death. From the 1911 census we know 32 Springfield Road, Bury St Edmonds was known as 'Bristol House'. When Gertrude Mabel Cook (nee Creek) died in 1922, she died at 32 Springfield Road, Bury St Edmonds. From the aforementioned information, we now now the photo was taken at Bristol House, which was situated at 32 Springfield Road, Bury St Edmonds.

Medical Notes: Admitted to hospital on 11/10/1917, and died in Victoria Ward on 22/10/1917.
